The Inspiration Behind The Whiskey Lab
In the fall of 2020, as the world went quiet, a small group of us from the Chicago Booth XP-91 class found solace and connection in virtual whisky tastings. Led by myself, Jay Roberts, and my co-founder Mark Sumlin, these sessions soon became a highlight of our lockdown life. Our shared passion didn't fade with graduation; instead, it sparked the creation of The Whiskey Lab.

Our inaugural release of Whispering Waters is a testament to our mission: breaking down the barriers between bourbon and Scotch. As bourbon lovers ourselves, we recognized the need for a Scotch that could speak to both worlds. Whispering Waters' first release is a 27 year old Single Grain Scotch. It showcases the smooth, versatile flavor profile of Scotch without the peaty punch that might deter a bourbon aficionado. This Scotch is not just our first product; it's a bridge. It's crafted for those curious about Scotch but wary of its reputation for heaviness and smoke. This Girvan 27 Year offers a lighter, approachable profile while maintaining the complexity that whisky enthusiasts admire. |
