Distilled on August 4, 2011, this single malt spent over 11 years in an ex-bourbon cask before being reracked into a 1st Fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead in July 2023 for a nine-month finishing period. With an outturn of only 314 bottles, this is an exclusive opportunity to experience the balance of Tamnavulin’s spirit and the rich influence of sherry maturation.

Tamnavulin, nestled in the heart of Speyside, is celebrated for its sherry-influenced whiskies that offer a harmonious blend of sweetness and depth. Established in 1966, the distillery takes its name from the Gaelic phrase for “mill on the hill,” a nod to its picturesque location near the River Livet. Known for producing approachable yet complex malts, Tamnavulin pairs traditional craftsmanship with an innovative approach to cask finishing, ensuring its whiskies stand out as some of the region’s finest.

Exceptional Cask Influence

This whisky was finished in a 1st Fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry Hogshead, which brings a luxurious layer of sweetness and complexity to the spirit. The PX sherry cask enriches the whisky with notes of chocolate ganache, citrus zest, and subtle floral elements, complementing Tamnavulin’s naturally soft and approachable character. The nine-month finishing period allowed the bold sweetness of Pedro Ximénez sherry to meld seamlessly with the whisky, creating a velvety, nuanced dram.
